About Us

Hey! Hi!

Welcome to our little corner of the web! This page is a brand new feature for the BPAL Dirty South Lunacy Event, and we plan on using it as another way of communicating all of the happenings associated with our monthly event. If you’d like to follow our page on Facebook, you can do so here.

So who’s behind the DSLE? Hi! I’m Lisa. You may remember me from such fine things as “Harry’s Farmers Market/Whole Foods Market” or “Dragon*Con.” I began working with the truly wonderful folks from BPAL many, many years ago (2007/08) and established the first iteration of the DSLE (then “Will Call”) while working at Harry’s/Whole Foods in Roswell, GA. I also have had the immense pleasure of working the BPAL booth at Dragon*Con each year that the Lab has been present. Changing jobs and switching stores within WFM unfortunately caused the collapse of the DSWC in late 2011. As soon as it became feasible, I wanted to get the ball rolling again and with the Lab’s blessing we started the DSLE in October of 2014. I run this show with my trusted assistant and all-around phenomenal human being, Eva, who’s been with me since the old days at Harry’s. I couldn’t do this without her; her generosity, passion for BPAL, wit, intelligence, cat photos, and work ethic are second to none.

So what is the DSLE? Glad you asked, friend! We hold a free/open to the public, once-per-month pop-up shop for Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab and Black Phoenix Trading Post. Products from both branches of the company are on site to sniff, sample, and purchase. We do our best to keep a healthy selection of General Catalogue and Limited Edition products in stock, and are happy to take special orders as requested, whenever possible. Our event generally takes place at the same location (Microtel Inn & Suites at Perimeter Center), however the day of the week and time slot can vary, so be sure to sign up for our mailing list to get the most timely notifications of event details. We also have a lovely and very lively community of BPAL enthusiasts who have shaped the DSLE into a wonderfully engaging social event. In addition to the fantastic BPAL/BPTP items, we have snacks and drinks, fun bag stuffers, great conversation, and an all-around excellent time.

We would like to thank the wonderful, talented, immensely creative, and all around badass Julie Sims for creating and hosting this page! If the totally amazing DSLE business card that’s being passed out at this year’s Dragon*Con brought you here, that’s a product of her genius as well. So if you, or anyone you know needs the services of an insanely talented artist/graphic designer/webmaster, and fellow BPAL fanatic, look no further. Her design company is The UltraMind, Inc., and her artist website is lensideout.com.

If you any questions or comments, please email me and I’ll do my best to get back to you in a timely manner. Thanks for visiting the page and I hope I’ll get to see you at a DSLE! <3
